Quality Assurance Job Description


The quality assurance technician is responsible for making sure that the products and services which are being sold by the business are of high quality, which ensures a successful business, maximum sales and maximum profit. 

The quality assurance technician must perform thorough investigations on each product and service to ensure that it is up to standards and complies with government regulations. Daily reports must be made regarding the manufacturing of the products and if any faults or errors are found then the manufacturing process must be taken back to the drawing board and the faults must be rectified.

As a quality assurance technician, you must hold project management and mathematical skills, be able to work well as part of a team or independently, have a persuasive attitude, be able to pay attention to detail, hold the ability to motivate other team members and hold strong interpersonal skills.

Education may not be compulsory to attain a job as a quality assurance technician, as many companies offer in work education and training. Some companies may however require applicants to hold a college diploma or other qualification at an equivalent level.


Some of the responsibilities that you will hold as a quality assurance technician are -
  • Enhancing and maintaining the product or service which is being sold by the company
  • Ensuring that the qualities that are set by the company and the government are being followed correctly
  • Creating daily reports of any faults or errors which have been found on any of the products or services
  • Assisting the engineers in product research and development
  • Rectifying any errors found in products and reporting them as expected
  • Performing a daily check of the products and services before starting work and after work
